Default Soft top Latch Paint Touchup

There has been some paint missing from my passenger side soft top latch for quite some time now. I am not sure when it was chipped, peeled, or scraped off but today was the perfect day to touch it up since I am working from home. With some primer, paint and a fine brush at the ready I proceeded to tape off the affected area and touch up the damaged area. This is what happened when I removed the masking tape (notice the huge flake of paint on the back of the tape?).

Just thought I'd share this so no one else makes the same newbie mistake.

UPDATE: (07/01/2011)

Remove, disassemble, sand, paint, wet sand, paint...blarghhhh! I did this to both latches to keep the appearance consistent, even though only the passenger side had paint problems.
