And a small detail for all those interested in this topic, i noticed in the Honda parts diagrams that there is a different part number toneau cover for the early 00-01 Ap1s which have 4 hooks behind the hoop, and another part number for the later ones with the glass top that has 2 hooks. So, the two inner hooks are not supposed to be there when a glass top is installed on an early ap1.

And now i am trying to figure the easiest way to get to the nut behind the two inner hooks, to remove them, and finally fit my toneau and have the soft top retract all the way

 

I had them removed when the plastic trims were off the car. (Sry for not replying i was away )
