tiny paint/rust chips in bumper
i recently picked up a 2008 GPW s2k
i was washing it the other day and noticed on the rear bumper a bunch of tiny paint chips and they are starting to rust
i have no idea what could have caused this, i feel the rear bumper is an odd spot for chips, ill attach a picture to show you guys what im talking about
any input?

the bumper is plastic, will not rust. the bumpers where not plastic protected when the car is new and I have seen those type of spots before, try clay bar to get the stuff out of the paint. it will take awhile to clean out since it has been on there that long though
the clay i have I got from a freind that manages a dealerships bodyshop. Go to the "detailers domain" on here and they will have the best products to use as wel as best practices for use. Definitly need to make sure to use suds and water(car wash solution will work) otherwise the clay stiks to the paint. Gotto keep it wet to keep the clay from sticking
I used the Meguiar's Clay-bar Kit on mine, worked great was like $15. What your seeing could be what my buddy (previously a detailer) calls "artilleral fungus". When you park near mulch these fungus pods shoot spores out. When they land on your car they stick and turn that rust color. Only way to get em off is with clay, a good wax will keep them from sticking so hard once you get em off
I clay my entire car 1 or 2 times a year to get stuff out of the paint, if you wax your car and whipe your hand across the paint and feel anything on the surface, like embedded dirt, time for clay. My car is 10.5 years old and the paint looks as good or better than some 2010 or 2011 cars I see

Those iron particles happen to us all, especially if you frequent drivin over a railroad track.
Clay alone probably wont cut it. It didn't for my GPW. A lot of times there are iron particles that embed themselves beyond the reach of a clay bar. I recommend Aquart iron cut, as it will remedy this. Follow it with a clay bar and you're all set.
