Default Undercoating in Wheel Well

Hello, the undercoating in my rear wheel well is peeling off after a wash one day. I stuck my hose under the wheel well and blast away and saw what I thought was dirt coming off but then I slaw "slabs" of them coming out. I looked under and saw it exposed the metal. Should I worry about this and get it fixed ASAP? Any recommended course of action I should take or products I should use? This happened on both sides.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I know thats a special coating for the undersides of cars, but I just put some anti-rust black paint and Plati-Dip. Hope this helps

Thank you all for the reply. It seems like an easy fix. So I should use something like This? Or are there better brand recommendations?

Also, should I clean the area again or just go ahead and spray it on?

Yes that'll work. Also just make sure the surface you're spraying on is clean.

I have used that exact product on a wide variety of cars and it works amazingly. My favorite one. The rustoleum brand doesn't stick on as well and falls off easier in my experience.
As the previous post said, make sure the surface is nice and clean, dry and free of any grime or dirt. Beware of overspray, and don't let it run when you spray it.

You should first clean it with some soap, scrub and power wash (low setting) Done!

Thanks for all the input, everyone. Now that I have some free time, I've finally picked up a can of undercoating spray and will work on it tomorrow. I know cleaning with car soap and water is the best way but I am scared it might not dry all the way and I could end up "sealing" some water on that spot. If I want to do a quick job, will wiping the area with rubbing alcohol do the trick?

Also, is that really bare metal? Will it rust if I leave it exposed to the elements (rain)?
