Default Would you repair this S2K?

As the subject said, I was in a wreck last Friday, hit and run. The other car lost control and spun across several lanes of traffic, and my RF hit his driver side door. His momentum carried across another lane of traffic, and into the center divide (concrete).

Body shop is still working on the estimate, but it's closing in on 7k already.

I was hopeful to repair the car (owned it since day one with just 6 miles on it).

But after seeing the damage to the frame, I have my doubts.

advice is welcomed.

Most of the pictures are here if you want to see them all...

Doesnt your insurance cover this? Its all repairable, but it will never be 100%. If the damage was just limited to the hub and suspension I would say its not that bad. But there is frame damage and I am not knowledgeable enough to assess the situation.

I have full insurance, I'm more concerned about whether or not I should look towards getting it repaired, or fight to have it totaled based on the damage.

Where exactly is this frame damage you all are talking about? I see the suspension and a slight dent on the area behind the right fender, but nothing that would make it into the "frame damage" category. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Glad that you didn't get hurt.

Hummm fight to have it totaled and take some part out before insurance takes it.

Just because...
1. Even it gets fixed, It will be not going to feel like new or normal.
2. You are going to have a hard time to resell it in future(accident history).

If you S isn't pay off yet, look at how much you owe and your s2000 value. If there is no money owe after pay off by insurance, defi push to totaled and look for another s2000.

Good luck man.

Thanks for the input guys...

The car has been paid off for a couple of years.

Frame damage can be seen in this shot...

Note the buckle in the sheet metal just past the firewall.

You can see the all pushed over towards centerline in this one if you look hard enough.

2004, one of the first AP2's...

Silverstone, with the two tone red/black interior.

It was in awesome condition until last week. Owned since new, always garaged.

It had just turned over 100k miles the week prior.

believe it or not with today frame machines u can bend that back to stock I would assume on our clearences it wouldn't be hard. I have seen machines that can put them back to better then stock on some lesser built cars (neons, kias etc) If u truely love ur car get it fixed. a payoff on that car would prob only be about 7-8k due to the 100k miles If i feel that taking the 8k and putting it towards a new s then go that way.
