Default Bent front control arm? Camber/caster adjustment problems.

Hi guys, i tried to do an alignment today, but i simply cannot get the front passenger side camber lower than -0.8. I also cant get the caster lower than 9.1. I shifted the subrame a little and that did help, but its still off.

Any ideas?

Have you looked at the upper arm? If the rear section of the arm is bent you will get more camber and caster.

The knuckle is what usually bends, if you can measure the distance between the upper and lower ball joint and compare it with the other side you might find a difference between the two measurements.

The other part that bends is the rear mount (caster adjustment) of the lower control arm.

What were the included angle measurements? What happened to the car? Yes knuckles bend but with that much of a difference in specs you would think that the tire would be against the knuckle or close to it.

The subframe part? Before this alignment i installed the energy suspension bushings in the lower arm, but only 2 of the 3. I didnt do the camber bushings because they looked good and strong.

The included angle adjustments wernt included. All i know is that the camber cant be adjusted for less than -0.08 and caster less than 9.1.

They were able to adjust the driver side caster to 8.2 and camber was able to get to -2.5.

ok so before the bushing install the alignment was square? (good) and after bushings not good? What spec are you trying to get to?

No, i replaced the bushings because one was torn. So i fugured id just replace the other ones that looked questionable. I didnt bother with the camber ones because they looked good.

This is the first time trying to align it. I bought this s2000 strictly as a track vehicle.

I do remember when taking the control arm off, that the shock was blown on that passenger side and a non oem bolt was used for the lower shock bolt. Maybe something is bent?

Id like -2.5 camber on each side and max, but even caster side to side.

It seems crazy that i have 8.2 and 9.1 caster lol

Loosing 2-3° at the wheel isn't going to be much of a bend at the knuckle or control arm.

Good luck with finding it.
