Default Bigger brake kit

Quick question, I'm thinking about getting some new enkei rpf1's for my car, specifically 17x9 +45 all around to run a square tire setup, and also in the near future want to install some bigger brakes as well, just want to check if there are any clearance issues with those wheels if I run larger rotors and calipers?

If anyone has any experience or have done this already please share some knowledge and experience.

Thanks!

As far as I know the 9+45 rpf1 won't clear any brake kit. The flat spoke design eliminates any chance of fitting larger calipers.

I see, that's disappointing, thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to just stick to the stock brakes, will replace rotors and get some better pads then.

Is this a track car? Bigger brakes don't improve braking power, they increase braking capacity. How long you can keep braking hard over and over. Like you do on a track session.

Want to stop harder? Get better tires.

A bbk on the street is going to worsen your unsprung weight, without adding much usable benefit. And cost a lot of $ you could use for more beneficial mods.

Thanks for the info, makes me feel better about sticking to stock size brakes. I think I have enough info now, Will go ahead and order my wheels.

hey before you make the same mistake numerous people have already done make sure to consider that with any 255/40/17 tire mounted on the Enkei RPF1 17x9 +45 you will need an aggressive camber alignment and you will need to roll, pull and trim your fenders - their is absolutely 100% no way to avoid this

I will parade a laundry list of people who would, if they could do it again, get a better fitting combination that required less destruction to their car

Have you considered the following:
TSW 17x9 +63 << BBK friendly for sure
949 17x9 +55
Enkei PF01 17x9 +60

No I haven't yet, until now, honestly I thought if I keep my ride height at stock I could get away with it. What do you think if I just go 245 tires all around with that setup? Is that feasible?

^Possibly but that offset looks kinda funny at stock height with factory camber:

Not stock height, but the TSW wheels look great and have a much safer offset while being compatible with Stoptechs with a small spacer up from:

That's 17x9 +63 with 245s and stock fenders. Zero fender mods and it's been safe through multiple autocrosses and a single track day.

Do this.

Two-piece floating rear rotor ($700) with giro disc two-piece front rotor ($700). $1400 total - less than the cost of most BBKs out there.

Run with brake ducts, and some decent track pads with operating temps capable of +1200F, and you should be good.

It won't be as good as a decent quality BBK, but it's definitely better than stock. The rotors make a huge difference in thermal energy dissipation, and moving from a solid rear to a two-piece vented rear, is exponentially better. And, all of this fits under the 17x9 +45 RPF-1 - the wheel that has possibly the absolute worst brake clearance.

I dont really plan on tracking the car anytime soon so think ill just stick with stock brakes for now, I'll think about getting the 2 piece rotors.

As for the wheels TSW look nice, still had heart set on the rpf1 look, do you have anymore pics of the car with rpf1's with stock ride height ?
