Default Which brake fluid do you use?

Thinking about flushing the brakes before DBR.

First off, how much am I going to need to flush the whole system (gravity flush per the stickies...thanks Bill for the instructions)?

Heard good things about ATE Blue DOT 4, but should I just use Honda DOT 3? What are some other high-quality options?

If you are going to the track you must use DOT 4. Any brand will work. Do a full flush.

Get a few bottles. You should bleed your brakes often if you track so you can never have too much fluid.

DOT 4, buy two small bottles, don't forget to flush your clutch while you are doing it.

Got a DIY thread on that? I've never done it before. I searched forum 193 and didn't find anything in the stickies.

Superblue is good but Valvoline dot3/4 is about $7 / quart at advance auto its not far off:

Dry ERBP F 503
Wet ERBP F 343

http://www.valvoline.com/products/br...brake-fluid/28

ATE® Super Blue (DOT 4) has a dry boiling point of 536F and a wet boiling point of 396F.

Why would water ever been present in the system?

WET BOILING POINT
The minimum temperatures that brake fluids will begin to boil when the brake system contains 3% water by volume of the system.

DRY BOILING POINT
The temperatures that brake fluid will boil with no water present in the system.
