Default brake light issue

Right problem I'm having at the minute is whenever I step on the brake pedal, only the passenger brake lights up. When the daytime running/normal lights are on both brake lights come on just dimmed as they should but then as soon as I step on the brake pedal again........only the passenger side illuminates! I've installed a new bulb and still get the same problem.

Would someone have an idea please??

Check your contact to the bulbs, cause obviously the brighter filament on the driver's side isn't getting any juice. What is the number of the bulb the S2k uses for the brake light? Sometimes the pins get bent and/or corroded. You can use that bulb grease too to prevent that in the future (its called dielectric grease and it keeps moisture off the terminal, honda uses it on the headlight bulbs and battery terminals too). But if the bulb is good, and so is the circuit and fuse, its gotta be a wiring thing, most likely the sockets. Get back to us on how the sockets look, as sometimes there are spring clips that get bent too much and you bend em back (with pliers, needles, screwdrivers, whatever works.)

thanks BrakeExpert, turned out to be one of the clips. It was really flat and pushed in so I stuck a small screwdriver behind it and pulled it out a bit. Did the trick!

cheers
