Default can i get your guy's input?

So once i get after my car is done being booted, which, keep your fingers crossed, will be within the next few weeks. But after that my next goal is to get my car lowered, to be honest, its not a race car, i dont plan on ever bringing it to a track and racing period. So i really want to save the 2-3g by not buying coilovers.
So that leaves springs, besides just getting the springs what else to i need to do this right? I really am worried about vibrating and bouncy bouncy rides, and i dont want that. So what should i do? Thanks guys

Jim

Eh you can get a decent set of coilovers for a lot less than $2-3gs. I heard springs don't provide any real increased performance (except maybe a slightly lowered center of gravity). I am in your same boat, and am looking to spend really no more than $1500 max. A few companies make "street" coilovers that are supposed to be a little bit more comfortable.

I may just go with Bilstein PSS (non adjustable) because I could get them for around $800. Hopefully they aren't too firm.

"Lowering Springs" will not provide any real improvement in performance. You'd better believe that stiffer springs do, though, as they limit the overall roll and therfore limit camber change, alowing you to run less static camber. Stiffer springs also limit weight transfer. You may have a bouncy ride because the springs will probably be softer than stock and the stock shocks may not have the force necessary to controll them. As spring stiffness goes up, the required rebound force goes up, but compression forces goes down. As a result most of the lowering springs are softer than stock, and therefore require more compression than the stock shocks have, and require less rebound than the stock shocks have. So either way, lowering springs are not great for the performance of your car.

like i said in my post, im not really looking for track performance suspension, so to be honest, all the other stuff doesnt matter because i never go around a corner at 50-100 and if anything im in a straight line for most of my trips. But i do completly under stand where your coming from.

Where can you get the Bilstein for $800? I'm in the same boat...would love coilovers but need to stick below $1000.

The damping rates are not adjustable on the PSS. Height is adjustable.
