How do you manage to completely empty the reservoir of old fluid? Unless (unlikely) mine is different, it is clearly made of two separate halves. Draining through the fill hole only takes care of one half. In the second picture from the top, you can also see the dark liquid at the bottom of the second half, but I can't get anything over to that side to suck it out. I waited to see if the second half would drain into the first half, no such luck. I don't think the amount of fluid left there is negligible.

-- edit: I found a superglue pipette in my R/C toolkit. see here: http://www.stewmac.com/product_image...ipettes_sm.jpg

I was able to remove pretty much all the old fluid from the reservoir, and some of the stuff that came out of the front was the nastiest fluid.

Use a modified baster with a 1/4" flexible tube on the end to get more out.

Great write-up!

I noticed a mistake in the write-up where you state the bleeding sequences. It is suppose to be 1)pass front 2) drive front 3) drive rear(LEFT rear) and 4) pass rear (RIGHT rear), right? But the sequence you wrote now for rear is mixed up with pass being left and drive being right

great write up man , thanks!

quick question for the forum and maybe op, the resvoir seems to have two parts, how did people suck the fluid out of the front part? i checked billmans thread too he suggested to add a tiny line to the turkey baster to suck out that part but it seems impossible and almost like they were separated by a divider.

Now that ATE super blue is discontinued, wouldn't it be a bit harder to do the gravity bleed procedure because the color of the liquid is somewhat similar? I'm sure you could still do it but just curious if it would be harder since it's no longer two different colors to tell when the new liquid has fully replaced the old stuff.

that's my question too. There is no discernable difference between the new fluid and old that I am changing now once the initial old fluid has drained. Does anybody know the brake system capacity, I can't think of another way to tell if I've changed enough fluid?

Are you guys sucking every last bit of fluid from the reservoir or just down to the LOW line? Wouldn't sucking out all the fluid let air in? Or am I missing something here.
