DIY for replacing stock struts?

Default DIY for replacing stock struts?

I want to replace my stock suspension with 94,000 miles for stock suspension with 20,000 miles. Is there a DIY for how to do it? I'm sure its the opposite procedure but if the strut is already extended how do I compress it to install and not damage it?

youll have to get a spring compressor. most auto parts stores will let you rent them
