Failed caliper bleed caused VSA ! Light to come on.
After replacing one of my front calipers on my 07, I misjudged the fluid level while bleeding and I ran the brake master cylinder dry. Got all the air out but now the VSA ! light is on. My Bluedriver code reader doesnt seem to work for this sort of thing. Been reading through the forums and not seeing on this subject. Wondering what to do now.

When the master cylinder ran dry, air entered not just the brake lines but also the ABS hydraulic unit. Regular brake bleeding won't remove air from the modulator - it requires the ABS pump to cycle to purge air from those internal valves.
2 options:
A. Take it to a dealer: The proper fix requires a scan tool that can activate the ABS pump and cycle the solenoids in the modulator while bleeding. Your BlueDriver can't do this.
B. Try the "hard brake/ABS activation" method. Find a safe, empty gravel or loose surface area. Drive at low speed (15-20 mph) and brake hard enough to activate ABS. This cycles the modulator valves and may purge the air. Return home and rebleed the brakes normally. Sometimes after getting all the air out, the light stays on just because the code is stored. Try disconnecting the battery for 10-15 minutes to reset the system. If air is truly gone, the light may stay off.
The dealer route is the most reliable solution. The ABS activation method works for some people but isn't guaranteed

thanks again for your reply!
How does the brake pedal feel? Does it feel soft like there is air in the lines? Air in the ABS system will cause a soft pedal as well. I have done the hard brake method to get air out of an ABS module I replaced on mine but it was definitely noticeable in the pedal. I did it on pavement, but gravel will make ABS engage easier.
