Front upper control arm bolt stripped
one of my front upper control arm bolts stripped the nut, and is loose now, im gonna match a 10+ grade hardened bolt plus 1/2 inch longer and throw a locknut on it. need to know the bolt width, i know its just under 1/2 inch but not sure, i think its m12, and ill need 100mm length i know. just need a quick verification, thank guys.
Holy shit, I didn't see your post when I just posted this: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=830839
Weird coincidence.

Just a note to both of you to make it easier for everyone searching this issue in the future is to have a title like this.
"Front upper control arm bolt stripped, need specs"
This will help other people in the future.

thank u macr88, mine has been stripped for about two years since i had last worked on it, but the front driver side recently developed a sqeaking sound, when i pulled wheel to inspect i noticed it had freeplay and could easily be spun by hand.
that wasnt the sqeak though, i think my shock is wore the hell out
121,000 miles on shocks, lowered 1.5 inch for 60,000 miles

here's a painless solution. It isn't the torque wrench, I think the nuts wear due to corrosion, but who knows.
If you should ever strip the welded nuts that are on the front upper control arm mounting points on the chassis you can use these Honda parts to re-attach the control arm to those mounting points. Using these parts retains the proper geometry of the suspension, and they are Honda suspension bolts and nuts, so they function as intended.
There is one new bolt needed, it is Honda part number 90118-SNA-000, it is about 1.5 inches longer than the original bolt, it has a tapered end and a smooth center section to rotate within the bushing. The Honda nut is part number 90395-S5A-003. It is capable of holding the torque levels of the intended use, approx. 75 ft lbs. as it is a suspension nut.
Once I was sure the orginal nut was stripped I cleaned out the threads as best as I could, inserted the new longer bolt with some lube through the old nut into the new nut. So it becomes a double-nutted attachment point, hold the new nut with a box end wrench and torque the bolt to spec, worked flawlessly and made a very stressful situation a simple fix. This is a 2 minute repair once you get the parts you need. hth.
