Do shox and coilovers really make a noticeable enough difference to be worth the investment for the S handling wise? Or is it the bling of lowering the car and purty colors that are the prime motivator?

I ask because I used to own a sport package Miata with stock bilsteins and it had much more neutral handling, more grip and was much more forgiving of weight transfers. If an upgraded shock and spring combo can help the S handle better it might be worth my cash...

http://www.morepowerracing.com (Everett, WA) has the PSS9 kit for $1149 with free shipping. $1149 to my door, no tax and no shipping. That's a smokin deal considering I was *this* close to buying them at around $1700, and the price of the darn Euro keeps going the wrong way. I ordered mine today from Neil at More Power (877-438-3939). (EDIT 1-25-05...I got mine, but it sounds like they're sold out now and the price is back up to over $1500)

I found the spring rates:

Bilstein PSS9
Fr: 345 lb with 85 lb helper springs
Rr: 285 lb

OEM:
00-01 Fr: 218(3.9) - Rr: 291(5.2)
02-03 Fr: 240(4.3) - Rr: 230(4.1)*
04-05 Fr: 256(4.57) - Rr: 207(3.7)*

*Estimates based on published % changes from Honda.

Ok, you beat me. I paid 1149.00 + 32.00 shipping on www.shox.com And I will have them on 1/7/04. When will you have yours? ;0

It is funny Bilstein US released the PSS9s state site and they said wouldn't. But when did they do it? It seams that you can find them all over the net at higher pricing. So they have been our for some time. You normally hear it here long before anything gets released for the S.

I'm in CA so I ordered out of state to save about $100 on the sales tax. They're shipping direct from Bilstein in SoCal, so I should have them in a day or two.

The PSS9's have been out for almost a year here in the US, but the price was high so I don't think they sold very well. Sounds like Bilstein is having a clearance sale, so my S2K is getting a Christmas present.

How do the PSS9s compare with TEIN RAs?
