Default Help Picking Coilovers...

So I am in the market for some coilovers. I was originally going to go all out and buy some HKS Hypermax III or KW V3s. However, I don't think that I would ever use the fully capabilities of all the different settings. I am just looking to lower my car some more, while still retaning decent ride quality. I am currently on Espelirs, but I dont think that it is low enough. I am mostly going to be daily driving it with the occasional Auto-X or maybe evena track day. Any help would be great.

Thanks

I had the PSS9 right before the HKS Hipermax III which I have now.

PSS9:
- excellent ride (stockish)
- only problem was that it didn't go as low as I wanted in the rear (unless you remove the helper spring)
- no separate preload adjustment
- 9-way adjustable dampening
- cheaper, $1350 or so
- spring rates: about 6 / 5 kg/mm (front / rear)

Hipermax III:
- harsh ride even in full soft if the roads are bumpy (very good in flat surfaces )
- corners A LOT better
- 30-way adjustable dampening
- expensive, $1850 or so.
- slammable
- spring rates: 13 / 11 kg/mm (front / rear)

Of course, some of this is subjective.

Given your situation, I think you're better off with the PSS9.

Goodluck.

for the price of the two you listed,...why not go "all out"......a few hundred more bucks and you have what you want. At least you have the goods when you wanna get freaky in the twistys, better to be bummed you spent more than to be bummed when the ride isnt what you want

Thanks for all the input, I think I am going to start looking at the BC Racing Coilovers.

From all my reading,...the Megans street and track, BC racing, and Apexi coils are all manufactured at the same place.
between buddyclub n+, megan, BC Racing, and pss9, i would choose whatever was available at the time of purchase, minus the pss9 as they dont go low enough.
Right now i am in the air over HKS, KW V3 personally. I probably wont use them to their full potential but id rather have it than regret not buying a "higher end" coilover.

Alright, I have it down to either the BC or the Buddy Club N+. Any more help would be greatly appreciated.

I plan on replacing my BC BR-type coilovers with the PSS9. I currently don't have have my car slammed on the BCs, so I'm not "too" worried about how low the PSS9s will go.

I am a little concerned that I won't like the softer PSS9 kit. I'm sure it'll just take some getting used to.
