I had the PSS9 right before the HKS Hipermax III which I have now.
PSS9:
- excellent ride (stockish)
- only problem was that it didn't go as low as I wanted in the rear (unless you remove the helper spring)
- no separate preload adjustment
- 9-way adjustable dampening
- cheaper, $1350 or so
- spring rates: about 6 / 5 kg/mm (front / rear)
Hipermax III:
- harsh ride even in full soft if the roads are bumpy (very good in flat surfaces
)
- corners A LOT better
- 30-way adjustable dampening
- expensive, $1850 or so.
- slammable
- spring rates: 13 / 11 kg/mm (front / rear)
Of course, some of this is subjective.
Given your situation, I think you're better off with the PSS9.
Goodluck.

Espelir ASD Lowering Springs /w OEM Shocks
KW Automotive Variant 1
Espelir ASD:
Comfort Driving was sacrificed for hard and solid corning and handling feel. The lowering springs with the compressed shocks makes your hand literally feel the road imperfections. If the ASD where paired with a set of Koni Yellows, the OEM ride quality would be the same, with approximately 1" of vehicle drop.
OEM suspension:
After switching back to OEM, I wanted a feel and and idea of how the vehicle dynamics have changed. The vehicle resonds and signals to the driver much information, due to the correct centre of gravity of roll steer. It did feel a little "sloppy" for me because of the increased roll. I did not like the OEM suspension much. Comfort driving is extremely acceptable and much better than many sports cars I've driven. Honda designed this OEM setup because there are many drivers 90% of the time, cruising on the streets, not necessarily bringing the vehicle to the track.
KW V1
Comfort driving is actually more comfortable than oem for regular driving. The KW suspension is very compliant in low speed driving and seems to instinctively "know' when to stiffen! *explained furtherhere* In a track circuit environment, the increased weight transfer accesses higher springs rates that KW V1 progressive suspension offers. So with harder cornering on the track, the higher spring rates hold the vehicle extremely well in the corners even under braking, trail braking, acceration etc. The KW V1 suspension seems to bring out the increased neutraility of the vehicle altogether, paired with a proper specified tire set, the KW is simply amazing. IT's softer than OEM and more comfortable than oem ride, yet, has higher spring rates on the track.
THe V1's are such an overextraordinary coilover system it simply rewards you as the driver. I never had so much performance, handling, raw, razor sharp precision with any other product than the V1. The KW Variants simply offers the best performance and comfort that I can confidently say beats any other Coilover system on the market
If an upgrade in handling is desired, I would recommend the KWs on the S2k.
