HKS Hipermax GT discontinued...
Hey guys,
Not sure if this is well known, but apparently the HKS Hipermax IV GT coilovers are being discontinued. The range is being replaced with the new Hipermax S series, but the S2000 isn’t supported!
The racing SP model is still available though.
I was looking at the GT for an affordable road/track option.
Edit: Hopefully they’re still planning to release them for the S2000 in time??

I have these and I love em.
As for as the GT's are not longer being made. I'm sure you can get them but they have changed to the GT 20 spec for the S2000 platform

This is the new kit: https://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/produ...ermax/db/21363
Must better spring rates than the previous GTs. Kinda wish they'd post shock dynos, though

I have the 20specs myself. I had the GTs before and I do like the higher spring rate better as it rides at least as good as the GTs did with the lower rates. Great ride on the horrible streets in WV when set on about 15 clicks right in the middle. At 12 clicks the handling is really sharp with less body roll than stock for sure.

The “20 spec” have also just been discontinued. There’s probably still stock floating around in the US though. I was just enquiring about them this week.
The series is being replaced with the Hipermax S, which apparently uses improvements from the “20 spec”, but they haven’t released it for the S2000.

Actually found a page from the HKS USA site that mentions the change, and fortunately the S2000 is on the list of cars.

I think the gt's are way better for DD then the SPs. I would only run the Sp's on a track only car. Its not that you can's DD the SP I have been in both cars. SP is much more stiff and dd u will hate bumps if you have bad roads. The GT's are much more forgiving I have noticed in driving on crappy roads. My car is setup for more cannons street cars. I did a track day without issue with GT and ton of other S2000's do as well
They are great coilovers for the price. I think they are quality and priced well for what you get. Yes you can get better but pony up more $$
