Default HKS Hyper Max III lowering

I have had these coils for about a year now and they are wonderful. I want to now get the car a little lower since I have added a splitter. How do you get it lower? When I tried to lower it, I noticed the strut body is already as low as it can go, so basically, I have no adjustability.

Is that right?

You can lower the perches on the spring but its not recommend. Is this for track use?

If you are already maxed out, I would consider buying coils that are specifically for slamming your car. I know HKS has their recommended height and dampening, sounds like you are below that. I would not recommend adjusting the coilover's preload (compressing the springs to be lower)

please post a photo, but to lower those coils (I have them as well) loosen the bottom ring and then you can twist the entire body to adjust height either using the wrenches or (if it is loose enough) actually grabbing the assembly and twisting it. Another tip, when you are adjusting the height with spanner wrenches, to lower you want to use the larger perch and twist clockwise, to heighten use the lower perch and twist counter clockwise. This is so you don't mess with the preload.

This is for track use. I installed the coils without adjusting anything but the firmness. jaor, I tried lowing it like you said, but the strut body is already as low as it can go as its bottoming out, again, I have not lowered or adjusted any setting from the factory but the firmness. I should also mention that these were the rears. I did not try the fronts as I do not want to have a rack, but I am sure I can lower the fronts, if I cant lower the rear, I wont.

Hmm not sure what to tell you then, it sounds like you won't be able to lower the rear then. Sorry man

But how do you like these coils on the track? I am guessing you are non-staggered as well

I like them a lot! They handle very well. Correct, im non-staggered on a square setup.

Sucks about the lowering, was hoping for a good .75in to 1in drop.

well if the strut body is already as low as it can go what you can do is remove the shock mount and remove the 2 collars and thread the shock mount back on and have it rest against only 1 collar. Since it's the strut body is already as low as you can go if you want to go lower there's no real reason to hvae 3 collars there.

That's is the only way to go lower if you are already maxed out with the 3 collars.

If it's for track use how much camber are you running in the front? Usually most run -3 or more, of course it depends on your set up,etc. To achieve that you need to run offset ball joints that usually come with the rca plates or integrated rca in the lower ball joints. By installing those not only will it correct your roll center but it will lower your ride height as well. So you may have your desired ride height once those are in.

Shoot didn't read it was for the rear Lol, in that case you can also run rear rca. Serves same purpose as the front rca

I think camber up from is -2 and 1.5 rear (or vice versa, cant remember). I will be doing ball joint etc this year so I can get more adjustability.

Thanks for all of the feedback and help. Just seems weird the factory would set it to the lowest with how being able to lower a bit more.
