Default HSD HD coilovers, bouncy on front, help please...

i recently bought some HSD HR coilovers the monotube models, they are a budget coilover and i do understand this before anyone chimes in with you get what you pay for..

what im experiencing is everytime i go over a reasonable bump in the road, its less noticeable at high speed but the front of my car bounces a few times, similar to what people who cut there springs get. wouldn't mind finding out if i have them set up slightly wrong, it happens regardless of whether i have them set to hard or soft or anywhere in between... wondered if i may have the spring set to firm or too loose in the coilover..

the other possible is that the damper itself is not any good, i have covered over 500 miles on them now and it hasn't changed a great deal, its also had a full 4 wheel alignment and adjust..

the other question i have is, is there anyway of making them harder as in less travel?? all depend on the spring im assuming?

thanks..

Do they have damper shaft boots or can you see the damper shaft. If you can see it try and get a picture of it with the car on the ground (you'll need to turn the front wheel to see it, the rear can usually be seen through the wheel)

Bummer the pic won't help if they have boots.

Is it a firm bounce or more of a wallow?

more of a wallow, i was speaking to my uncle about it, (landrover master tech) he was saying that the dampers may be faulty but its like it on both sides... which if you ask me is a little too much of a coincidence, he also mentioned if there were air in the damper it may cause it?

That sounds like a damping issue, so either they screwed up on the valving for the front or the damping adjusters aren't working properly.

I would just call them up and explain what you're feeling, hopefully they'll swap them out to something that works.
