Default Installing dfv's

I'm installing a set of dfv's right now. The documentation with them says preload has already been set, I just need to adjust shock free length.
The recommended & preset preload is 14mm. I'm running 12k springs with .8k helpers.
I can turn the springs by hand right now. Is this right? With 14mm preload, I would think the spring would be pretty hard to turn. It seems to me that it would be fairly tight & hard to turn.

Am I wrong? Should I disassemble & check preload ?

Why on earth would you post these questions here instead of just contacting Sakebomb?

^^!!

Definitely contact them for clarification. Just follow their instructions.

14mm of front preload is because of the helper spring. Yeah, with a rate of 0.8KG/mm, it will be pretty easy to preload to 14mm.
