Default knocking noise

hello guys, so i lowered my car on buddy club coilovers bout 2 months ago now and ever since install it had a knocking noise on one of the rear strut/shock when i go over bump or driveway or pretty much when the car is "flexing" and today i finally had time to check it out at first i thought it was just the suspension settling in but i found out that the top hat bolt lost it's groove? is that what its called when you tighten it but it doesn't tighten n just turns? is this the cause of the knocking noise? can I send it in to buddy club to get it fixed? i bought it used =/ *i don't wanna hear anything about buying it used as I'm aware of the risks* I'm just here to find out ways to fix this :]

Did you preload the suspension/bushings ?

I had the same knocking sound when I re-installed my springs while "flexing" the rear, went away after preloading.

you stripped the threads off, that is due to over torque'ing or cross-threading that nut. I dont know how you could fix that besides sending those shocks back into buddy club to have that part replaced, or you could do it yourself.

you can always try to grab the top threads with vise grips and try and turn that nut with a wrench...i have to do that sometime whenever im doing shocks or struts that ave been on a car a little too long
