Default Koni/GC problems

Hey guys I just got my Koni/GC setup with the GC top hats also. The directions on these are a little "vague" as everyone says. I have already seen a couple of threads on building them just to make sure I am doing it correctly but none of them have been on an s2000. I'm pretty sure I got the order of things correct and everything but when it comes down to putting the nut at the top to hold everything together I only have enough threading for one. The instructions say to put one to hold it and the other as a lock nut but I just wanted another opinion on what I might be doing wrong. I also got two of the metal washers that go under the top hats and only used one, not sure if the other goes in another place. Sorry if its a noob question but its my first time actually putting this together, have always just bought full coilovers before.

just follow the pictures on the diagram.the big washers? put one on top of the bumpstop and the other i think it goes on top of the dust cover.

You will need to compress the spring down to start threading the top 2 little nuts -how much depends on your spring, with mine I just needed some body weight. I prefer to tighten these down when the whole unit is under load, lessens the risk of stripping it. Also dont forget to preload the suspension before torquing.

this is the order. except for the last washer it goes below the two nuts on top of the top hat bushing

I dont remember compressing the springs when i did my install, there was plenty of thread sticking out to put it together

Yea thats the same order I have it in. Im guessing the washer under your tophat is the one with the lip, which is the one I have under the nut. The washer I meant was the one that comes before that under that, the one the top hat rests on I got two of those but whatever I guess I only need one. As far as the nut you guys were able to use both?

The koni will come with 3 washers in total. 2 big ones of same size and the smaller curved one that goes under the 2 nuts. Use all washers and nuts. Depending on your drop, you may not need to compress the spring to get everything together. That photo is correct, however its not showing the top 2 nuts or small washer.

Well I guess I just needed to compress them. I said f*** it and put them on and I was able to tighten the nut more when it was on the car and then put the second one on. Thank you everyone for your help.
