I would love to just be able to try coilover after coilover. I don't want to let very good be the enemy of perfect, if perfect even exists. However, here is what I would try if I had more money and time.
FA500 with 9K/9K springs and 11K/11K damping
KW V3 off the shelf
Ohlins DFV off the shelf
But.... My Koni setup now is better than what I had and gave me everything I asked for. For the money its a winner. I cant wait to take it to the track with the latest damping adjustment.

I had both the KW v3 and now have the Ohlins. The DFVs make the KWs feel like cut coils and blown shocks. They are worth every penny.
However it was still more than I was willing to spend. I needed tires, brakes, etc.

I love my GC yellow setup. I think that it is the single best value in suspension for this car. I also found that it is better on the stiffer side, although both of us are on the stiff side as far as springs.
I have not trimmed my bump stops though, I never really noticed a huge issue. Did you just remove the tire and cut the stop in half with a razor and then sand down the cap, all on the car?

No, I pulled the shock out, twice. It's the best way to do it.
If you have same ride height, shocks, and no roll center correction, you must be close to the bump stop. Depending on the stop material (stock), you may be using them as part of the spring and tuning the rebound to compensate. I almost did that my self. The konis have so much rebound control, they can handle th spring plus the bump stop.

What spring rate do you recommend if going 17x9 square

2001 s2000 all stock except ap2 rear sway bar. Have hankook rs3 on stock rims. So once they go out my next mod would be 17x9 square. Then suspension at the same time or soon after.

Set spring rates before sway bars. Anything from a 100-300 lb split between front and rear has been used successfully. (Front stiffer) Use bars afterward to fine tune roll rates. People typically end up pretty stiff in the front and pretty soft in the rear, even with the spring split. YMMV tho. If you have an LSD, you can get away with a smaller split.
