Is the S not worth the few extra $$$ to buy quality parts?
I just wanted to point out to the OP that the Fortune Auto coilovers might be in another price bracket. I wouldn't quite call the s2000 a "platinum fitting," though I do love mine.
I couldn't disagree more. I love my S too much to throw cheap crap on it. Only the best for the S!

eh whatever...it's your car.....

I posted a link for a set of fortune auto 510 series for under a grand and there new, that would be around $150 price difference
I didn't realize the price difference was that small. I though the Fortune Auto coilovers were in the $1100-1200 range, making them cost ~50% more. I guess I was wrong, though.

In that case, I would recommend them as well, because of the high reviews they have gotten.

I wasn't necessarily referring to what I would put on my car - which is nothing; the stock suspension is much better at what it does than I am at driving.

Some well-used AP1s are selling for less than $10k. I imagine some people wouldn't be willing to or would be unable to spend 1/10th of the car's value on suspension.

All in all, just trying to keep in perspective the budget implied by the products asked about in the OP. Like I mentioned before, not that long ago, it seemed like so many people were recommending KW coilovers in threads in threads asking about coilovers that cost 1/2 the price.

I agree...the fortunes are more money, and youre right that they are in that range new...used is a diff story and idt relative to the discussion.

"people were recommending KW coilovers in threads in threads asking about coilovers that cost 1/2 the price. "

There is a reason for that, and it has to do with how good the stock suspension is.

Fortune auto 500 series is around $1150 new, they just released version 4 so some places are closing out the version 3 so the link I posted is a sale on new v3 510 series which originally sold for $1499. the megan track series are $800 and the function type 2's are a little bit more than that, IMO if your gonna spend that change you might as well scratch a little bit more together and get a far superior product.

As for AP1's selling for 10k and under, many of us know that value will begin to rise on these cars in the coming years. They are becoming harder to find.

On a side note, we are debating this for the OP who has not posted in this thread in like a week lol

Got the F2 Type 2's. definitely better than the 12 year old stock stuff as far as stiffness and handling IMO, but i wish i would have saved up more to get the KW or PSS9's.
