Default New Brake Pad Help

Ok, my car is mostly street driven and I'm looking for more initial bite. I have Axxis Ultimates now but there is wayyyy too much dust. I was satisfied with the overall stopping power of the OEM pads but I want a quicker initial reaction. I recently drove an FX35 and the thing had a more aggressive response then the S. I'm looking for something along the same lines but dust friendly. Please post experienced opinions.

to be honest with you initial bite means nothing in terms of performance braking IMO, it just feels good at first. You usally get more brake fade in hard braking conditions with such pads. OEM pads are actually pretty good for initial bite, as you move into higher performance pads they will sacrifice some initial bite for better braking in hard stop conditions.

I'm running Hawk pads, they don't have great initial bite but in hard braking conditions they are superb, the rate of deleration increases as far as you can press the brake pedal. Dusting isn't too bad. Pads with good initial bite usually have rates of deceleration that flatten out after about 50 percent pedal application, companies like EBC made their living off initial bite, though I regard their pads as junk.

As far as dusting goes, ceramic pads are some of the best materials for that, though they usually have poor initial bite.

You might want to look into Carbotech Panthers, heard lots of good things about them from members on here, I haven't tried them personally. Try a search on Carbotech.

I had Hawk HP+'s and they are crap compared to even the not so great AP2 pad.
For the money and performance just stick with AP1 pads, they even dust less than AP2 pads. Hawk HP+'s fade earlier than stock pads, dust way more and are noisy

for more than twice the money you can get an AX6 but stay away from the bobcat, it's no better than stock and it's twice the money.
