Default Akebono Ceramic Brake Pads

A friend is considering Japanese made Akebono ceramic brake pads and is requesting feedback on dust, cold stopping, wet stopping and squealing. His original pads create way too much dust and he always keeps his car in pristene condition.

A friend of mine got these last year for his S. He says that they're comprable to the OEM pads as far as stopping power goes. Maybe just a little bit less but you don't really feel it unless you're pushing the car hard and braking all the time. Not so good on the track.

As for the dust though, they're amazing. He'll go weeks without cleaning his wheels and they'll be as dirty as mine from just going to work and back. They are on my list for the next purchase.

I once wrote Akebono aobut their pads and they replied with a very professional answer, which basically said their pads are very similar to Honda OEM. They provide a lot of OEM ceramic pads. Good to know about the dust advantage, though.
