Default Ohlins DFV Clunking

Hello,

I am running Ohlins DFV with Sakebomb Lower Fork and 10k springs and 12mm preload in the rear.
I have a clunking sound when cornering hard. Top hats are torqued and bushings are clocked.

I occasionally heard this sound also with the 8k springs before, but now it is louder and more frequently (upgraded to 10k springs yesterday).

I suspect that the springs are moving and some kind of stick slip effect is causing the noise, but I would like to know if anybody else ever heard of this problem.
Thanks guys.

Make sure damper to tophat is properly torqued.

I haven't heard about that, are you sure it's from the springs?
Maybe check droplinks and all the ball joints for play.

Tophats are torqued.
Sway bar end links were already replaced.

It seems to be worse than before with the stiffer springs...that is why I think it is the damper...

Something is suddenly moving or unloading and makes a single pop or clunk. Sounds metallic.

Would the bushings make a sound if they were not properly clocked or would they just silently wear faster?

I would check the top hat bearing, that could be bad.

Tried a softer damper setting.
Better or worse?
could even undo full on rear damper and bounce back of car<by hand>any noises?
ps when I replaced the links I got a noise<I did not torque one up enough>

Mine have done something like this. Afterwhich the steering wheel is off center. If I go rip some high G turns, it clunks again and straightens out.

Sounds like a massively safe situation you've got going on

Do you still have the stock shocks? Can you try and swap those in?
