Pads w/ least amt of brake dust
#11
If a rotor is in such bad shape that it needs to be resurfaced, then it should just be replaced. A resurfaced rotor winds up with a lower mass, and an overly abrasive surface, which eats away LOTS of brake pad before it is fully bedded in. Basically, resurfacing rotors is a waste of time and money.

Just replying to get some feedback on Posi-quiet ceramic pads. I'm seriously looking into these. I just got some white wheels for the S and brake dust is HORRIBLE. I assume the pads are OEM, but either way I'm considering throwing them in the trash in lieu of some low dust pads.
Would the posi-quiet ceramics really be that hard on rotors? All I'm doing is moderate street driving. I never track and I never get that crazy on the brakes.

If your front wheels are showing much more brake dust than the rears, then you should try out the AP1 front pads first. I have NO IDEA what Honda was thinking when they switched to the AP2 front compound.

Fair enough, but is there a real reason why? I assume the AP1 show a lot less dust, but they can't shed less dust than ceramic pads can they?
Then there is the issue of price. I can get the posi ceramics for $53 shipped.

Can anyone give me the slightest reason to choose AP1 pads over ceramics? I want the least amount of dust possible, even if it does come at the expense of slightly accelerated rotor wear.
