Preload suspension
For the front, I placed a jack under the brake disc and slowly raised until the frame rail lifted off the jack stand on the corner I was raising.
For the rear, the jack mounted perfectly in the lower ball joint perch (the threaded part did not touch, the lips wrapped around the hub point), then raised again until lifted

loosen the three 17mm bolts 2x upper brackets and the main one connecting shock to LCA. assuming only the upper control arms were removed for install. ideally youd want something in the driver seat with your weight on it. was anything else taken off?
Nope I just removed the uca then I reinstalled all bolts jacked up the control arm until it lifted off the jack stand and tightened to specs. I went from lowered on coilovers to oem if that makes any difference. It just seems like I have excessive ride height. I haven't aligned the car yet I have an appointment for Wednesday.

All the bushings need to be loose, and the car sitting at ride height. Then tq to spec. If you are changing ride height, you should tq all of them.
I have also taken measurements and found jacking one wheel at a time is not accurate. The best way to do it is to let the cars weight load the suspension to ride height. I drop the rotors on jack stands.

Exactly. I've only ever read one (correct) way to pre-load bushings, which is the way that is being described in this thread. Somehow, I think the OP is talking about the preloading of the coil springs, about which there is massive misinformation and myth out there.
