Default Project Mu bbk

Hi guys. I recently bought these off a s2ki member for the S. From his information since i couldn't find any info online, these are the older generation of the 4 pot bbk. Compared to his spoon calipers, these are slightly if any smaller than the Spoons. Im currently running Gramlights 57xtreme 17x9 +40 all around with 245's. According to Evasive i would need a 15mm spacer. I test fit them today and i started with a 5 mm and it cleared BUT here is where my questions start. The gap is so tiny between the caliper and rim that i don't know if its safe.

1: Will the caliper expand with heat or somehow be able to hit the wheel?
2: Would you recommend going with a 10mm spacer instead of the 5mm? (10mm with studs)
3: If a 10mm spacer is used, is there anyway to prevent from cutting the oem studs?

I could spin the wheel at full speed with the 5mm spacer without it hitting but like i said its a very close. Also from doing some research, its unclear to me if its safe to run a 5mm safely or not. Some say yes and they have for many years without an issue, others say no from what they have heard but haven't found anyone say its unsafe from experience, just from one ear to another. Thanks guys

why not get the kics spacers with the built in studs for the 10mm? that way, you don't need to go extended studs. i believe stoptech recommends 3mm. i'd be more worried about the rim flexing than the caliper expanding.

Get new wheels or run extended studs to be on the safer side. It's the reason why I sold my volks to get wheels that would clear the spoons without running spacers/extended studs.

You should have 2-3mm clearance minimum between the wheel and caliper. that looks less than 1mm clearance currently to me
