Measure the collapsed length of the helper. You need a spring that is that much longer.

I cannot imagine that the spring seat is that hard to turn. And if it is, its not because of the helper. You are pre-compressing the main spring...which you will likely need to do even when you get new springs. Even then...its a plastic seat. It should just turn. You may have dirt buildup on the threads or something. I've adjusted mine way up before...and it wasn't really hard enough to turn to make me want to get rid of the helper spring.

You could alternatively just flip the springs so that the main spring is in contact with the seat and the helper spring is on top. It may make it easier to adjust because you wont be binding and spinning the helper spring on the seat.

I bought springs from H&R that had metric ID's, IIRC. They were identical to the KW springs in size. 12k/10k

KW also makes longer springs at different rates. The ones on my tsx wagon are 12kg/mm and are like....30-40mm (1.25-1.5") longer or something. Or was it 60mm...I don't remember. They look to be the same ID as the ones for a S2000.

KW recommends a certain height from bolt center. I tried that as my stock setting and its so low it tucks. Not sure how that could be even driveable. I am cranked up to where the whole helper is compressed and now i barely have 1 finger gap. I am use to having 1-1.5 finger gap

KW's settings are always so GD low. I had to turn mine up as well. I had mine at like 1.5 to 2 finger gap at one point. Idk...it wasn't hard at all to turn the perches. I do have day laborer strength...but I'm 5'11 and 155lbs. Not exactly some huge gorilla.

So what if your helper spring is compressed? I guess I'm not understanding the apprehension to just turning the perches up more. You're not worried about damaging the springs...and you're saying its just kind of difficult to turn the perches up? So...it would be more convenient or beneficial for you to buy new springs of a different rate and longer body?

Just turn the perches up until you reach the height you want. It doesn't matter if the tender springs are compressed fully. They're compressed fully when you put the car on the ground anyway.

Just make sure you don't go past the max height recommended by KW. Or you'll have a terrible ride where the springs fully outstroke the damper over bumps.

i am buying stiffer springs anyways for the track and if i have the option i might as well get rid of the helper springs. i figure since they are fully compressed they are useless to me as is.

I used 6" 60mm Hypercos with the helpers. I imagine 7" without the helpers would be just fine. I'd suggest 650f/550r. The 60mm Hypercos are perfect fit. Can't speak for swift

Also worth mentioning that if you buy stiffer springs, you won't have to thread the perches up as far to get a higher height since they will compress less under the same load. If it were me, I'd leave the helper springs in there.
