Default Steering issue please help.

Hey Guys,

New to the site and my s2k. I recently purchased an 06 Silverstone AP2 and absolutely love the car. After a months or so of driving I've noticed that every once in a while at highway speeds the car wants to randomly pull left or right almost as if someone grabbed and pulled the wheel in either directions. I've tried to force the car to repeat this but it seems to only happen randomly. I thought at first it could be an alignment issue but after my buddy that works at my local Honda gave me a full alignment the issues still seems to continue. If I take my hands off the wheel the car drives straight with no issues until randomly it veers in either direction. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar to this and would know of a good place to start. I've done quite a bit of research and haven’t been able to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated guys and thanks in advance.

the steering rack is electronic... I don't know a lot about it. maybe see if it needs to be recalibrated. I have been told that mine needs to be zeroized. I know its $95ish to get it done through the stealership

Before spending time worrying about steering rack calibration (it's still a mechanical system between the steering wheel and the front wheels, just electric assisted), what is your alignment?

Grooves in the road and other asymmetric surface features can cause the car to wonder. This is completely normal on a car that doesn't run zero toe front and rear. Check the easy stuff first - alignment, tire pressures, road variations.

I'm taking the car back to Honda for another alignment this weekend and I will post the numbers, Tire pressure is good, Tires are all practically new Yoka Advans. I tested the EPS system by removing the fuse and driving the car and still had the same results so I ruled that out. Just trying to see if I needed to start looking at suspension components or tire/alignment.

Take note of it next time it happens, the location and roughly the speed you were travelling. Then go back to the same spot and try to repeat the scenario. If the same thing happens then you have your answer. Tramlining is by no means uncommon so don't spend too much money on it until you're sure there is an issue.
