Hi all, just wondering what disc options there for this BBK apart from the actual Stoptech ones. Also pads.

I run quite aggressive Dixcel race pads and just want to see if there are any other 2 piece discs in case I run into problems.

Tried search but no luck.

 

I dont believe any other rings will fit. Maybe Brembo 328x28 rings since Ive heard of people with Brembo BBKs replacing their rings with Stoptech since they are about half the cost.

With that being said the Stoptech rings are great for track use. I have 20 track days with over 35 hours of actual on track time using Carbotech XP10s and Project Mu Club Racers with no ducting. Ive been bringing spare rings to the track lately because they look like they're getting ready to go but so far they've surprised me and they're still running strong.

Just on the pads, how do you find what other options are available?

 

racing brake makes some replacement rotor rings that are supposed to work. But I'd stick to the Stoptechs based on some poor feedback I've seen on the RB rotor rings (them seem to form catastrophic cracks faster)

Ive been running Raybestos ST43 pads on my stoptech kit all year and love them.

I would give porterfield brakes a call. They stock a large range of compounds (PFC, Porterfield, Hawk, Raybestos) and they offer a NASA and SCCA discount if you have a membership.

What other pads have you tried with the stoptech kit? Ive been curious about some offerings from Raybestos since I hear they last forever. But Ive heard they can be tricky to modulate- most people Ive talked to say they have a very strong initial bite and high levels of friction but are like an on-off switch.

 

I just put the kit on last year so just the stoptech street pads and the ST43 so far. I ran the ST43 on my OE brake setup and they were far and away the best pad I had used after trying the usual suspects, so I continued using them on the stoptechs to get an apples to apples feel on the brake upgrade.

You're right about the characteristics. They bite hard and if you use them like other pads you will find them hard to control. They just need less pedal pressure for the same response.

Ive been window shopping what compounds to try next. PFC01 is the leader as a next try but they are $80 more a set than the ST43. Got any other recommendations?
