I just installed the Bilstein PSS9 coilovers on my car last two weeks ago and let me tell you...i'm very glad that i did it...the handling is so much better now than before and I can adjust the damping and compression rate w/ just turn on a knob and I can get them stiff or they can be soft. This is one of my best modification that I did on my car.

Speed magazine, s2000 shootout : j's racing coilovers pulled 1.04 g's on skidpad, sport compact car's ultimate street car challenge 2001 s2k pulled over 1 g on penske coilovers. Comptech's representative care pulled over 1 g on ohlins coilovers. Amuse s2k that impressed best motoring's racers on the touge used their own dampers with 12kg front and 14kg rear spring rates on 17x9's on all 4 corners with 255/40zr17's. Are ya'll really into this thing or is it just me? Don't you just eat eat up all the vids and mags available or am I just obsessive?
this is incomplete imformation, tires brand, size, aligement and other also affect G's performance. those cars have lot of suspension and chasis modification to achieve those numbers.
Of course they do - just mentioning what was possible on those coilovers. In the same shootout, David Karner's honda cup race car pulled 97 g's with koni dampers and eibach springs. Does that mean this set-up is inferior? No, but it's always nice to know the parts involved in an impressively tuned car.
Of course this isn't a controlled science project - just trying to put some info out there I came across

Kaner's Honda has a custum Koni set up, I belive made to his needs, it is not the yellow koni that we can buy in any shop.
in the SCC Challange an S2000 pulled +1G but I do not know if the test was down with the same conditions as Karner's car, tires, ratio of the circle. It has a Custum penske set up too

I'm not that far along with the S2000, but we haven't had any trouble getting lateral acceleration of over a G with our Miatas. It takes addtional chassis bracing, full suspension (coilovers, adjustable sway bars, harder bushings, etc.), R compound tires, and some tuning, but it's the R compound tires that make the biggest difference. All the rest is just what it takes to enable a Miata to get the most out of the soft tires.
The S02's that came on the AP1's are pretty soft themselves, and can easily exceed 0.9 G's steady-state with nothing more than some alignment and tire pressure tuning. This leads me to believe that it will be a lot easier to exceed 1G with the S2000 than it is with the Miata's, in spite of the Honda's additional mass. LOL, I'll find out for sure once I'm sure I've gotten all I can out of hte S02's.
