Default weak braking

hey guys i have about 90k miles on MY01 and about last year i put new brakes and rotors on my car and my brakes feel very weak...like my abs felts like it kicks in very fast and easily. the tires dont slide or anything...i have centric premium rotors, and ebc red stuff pads. my brake fluid is very dark. i have never changed it since i have owned it on 2009 with 50k miles. does anyone have an idea what it could be? i have dunlop star spec tires, 225 front and 255 rear. all opinions welcome.

You definitely need to change your fluid. It needs to be changed every 3 years at the minimum.

omfg change le fluidz.

http://www.amazon.com/ATE-706302-Ori...4852591&sr=8-1

OR

http://www.amazon.com/Motul-RBF-600-...4852591&sr=8-3

$15.99 plus some ridiculous amount for shipping. This will give you more than enough for one change. Or one change if you suck and spill stuff. Both are legit brands. I'm using Super Blue currently. Going to buy Motul next time.

I had a pretty similar problem recently. The most common weak pedal feel comes from bad Brake fluid(having air in the lines). The Motul RBF600 or ATE super blue are great choices as mentioned above. I've personally used both and currently running with the ATE super blue because of the cost factor.

I've also encountered other reasons to having a very weak pedal feel. Such as the rotors being warped(thinning), pads unevenly wearing(thinning and tapering), brake lines getting too soft(expanding), caliper expanding/bending outwards, caliper piston seals torn, and etc.

Which fluid is better or are the about the same? My brake lines are ten years old. Almost 11. I was either going to buy SOS ones or goodridge ss. I was thinking of replacing those and doing a full flush

Just buy the SOS ones or pick up some lightly used stainless steel lines.

Super blue and Motul will both work fine for whatever you do. Super blue is cheaper, Motul has a slightly higher boiling point (which probably won't matter to you). Like I said, I've ran the Super Blue for four track days and I've never had a problem so I recommend that. I've only heard good things about the Motul.

Well, if you are gonna do a full flush, I would recomend replacing the brake lines and Clutch line to SS because it's just old and worn out. And, Flush both. Two birds with one stone. I ended up getting my SS lines(brakes and clutch) through Kings.

Also, I would recomend looking at the Clutch master cylinder and brake master cylinder pedal assemblys. Among the Ap1 generation, there was a faulty design in the clutch pedal assembly where it leaks into the cabin/carpet, which happened to me. It literally drained it empty.

Don't buy used lines. They are wear items.
