Default What's the most comfortable setup?

I've recently been in a bad accident that makes my daily drives much intolerable than before. Currently my setup is 17" AP2v1s with Contential DWS on Stock Suspension but with the horrible road conditions here I am always bumping, rattling and I can feel my manboobs jiggleling and it's just very unpleasant.

Ive read Ohlins are comfortable but should I pay such a premium? I've never experienced them before so idk if they're like my GFs Mercedes which just eats speed bumps like they're cupcakes. What about air suspension? Also I'm thinking of switching to 16" wheels stock set up.

What setup would give create the most comfortable ride (stop making my fat jiggle).

Note; I don't care about ride height or performance really I just want my S2000 to give my poor body a break 8(

You're not going to find what you're looking for in the S2000.

The 2006 suspension setup is reputed to be the softest but that's only in comparison to some of the earlier rock hard ride cars.

Check your bushings and shocks before throwing on aftermarket coilovers as the OEM suspension is very good. Ohlins are comfortable for the spring rate, but they're still going to be stiffer than OEM.

Koni yellows and stock springs *should* make the ride better than stock. And they're cheap enough to give it a trial.

Going to 16" software sidewall wheels will definitely help, also heard the Billstein coilovers ride nice. As B Serious mentioned, I had the Koni Yellow on my miata and with stock s2000 springs should also be comfy.

By the time you do all of this you're somewhat neutering the S but hey it's your car and pain so maybe a soft S is better than none at all.

Honestly if you are looking for a cushy ride in a daily driver the S might not be the best choice.

Bilstein PSS9 with soft AP2 rear sway bar is the smoothest I've found. Smoother than stock over bumps, better handling than stock, and adjustable for height and damping.

I test drove a car with Koni Yellow and Suspension Techniques springs that was pretty good also.

Smoothest stock shocks with aftermarket lowering springs I've owned were Tanabe NF210.

I put on AP1 16" wheels on my AP2 just yesterday to improve the ride quality over the stock 17s. The ride is much softer now but of course the handling and steering are mushier as well. With the roads around here though I'd make that trade-off every time.
