That's because you have Apex Blue -- the Berlina Black cars have a painted A-Pillar.

Not my 07, model year 07. My friend has a bb that has the wrap.

That's weird it should be painted all years. My AP1 BB was painted as well.

Since my CR is BB I've never thought about this, but it is an interesting question - one with two answers. I like the look of the the ABP without the wrap as long as it's topless. Once the top is on the car, my answer swings the other way. If I dedicated the car to open air driving I'd lose the wrap, but who can always drive topless? Besides, I like the car with the hardtop installed - just wish it didn't creak (uh, I bet I need to grease the catch pins and clamps, eh?).

my vote - Honda got it right

Since I painted the hard top ABP, I also removed the tape. Soft top is the Accessory Blue material, so it sort of "matches" as well. If I were going to leave the top black, then I might consider leaving it taped, but I just liked the hard top body colored as it was on my AP1.

I had the impression everyone already knew that? S2000's from day one have had painted windshield frames in all other markets. It is ONLY for the North American cars that American Honda Marketing led the decision to put black tape over the frame so it blended better with the soft top. I have heard that a small % of cars may have paint blemishes under the tape in the paint that were not 100% fixed since tape would cover this area anyway. I have never SEEN one of these car though, so it is only a rumor as far as I know.

Obviously the only exception to the vinyl pillar in the CR/ base S2000 line is the BB model which is painted.

Steven, actually the BB is vinyl wrap as well.

I've had mine off then re applied it because I did not end up liking it off. As I go back towards stock, I like the look better.
Did you reapply the OEM or just use some aftermarket wrap?

I went with an aftermarket wrap that is a little better quality than OEM.

Can you detail what king of aftermarket wrap? I'm looking to put it back to black

Well I'll look into it. I had a friend pick up the wrap. But it was just a heavy grade self adhesive black vinyl. Pretty simple actually.
