Default 02 radio come with key code????

I just picked up my 02 and went through all my papers including the owners manual.
I did not see that little card with the code on it needed in case you remove your stock radio and the decide later to put it back in???

Did anyone else that purchased an 02 get the radio code???

I plan on removing my stock radio and selling it on the board and would of thought this code is needed once the radio is plugged back into the harness...

Thoughts????????????

i bought a 02 radio for my 01 =-), and YES the 02 radio does come with a code. if you dont have the code, say goodbye to the radio if the power is off.. if your car didnt have the code card when you bought the car, then just go to the local Honda dealership and they can type in your VIN # and get you the code.

They can't pull the radio code from the VIN, they need to pull it from the radio serial number which is located on the bottom of the unit. Trust me, I know.

Further input on obtaining lost radio codes:

My dealer required that I bring the radio, photo ID, and the vehicle registration. This way they cross referenced the radio serial number with the correct car VIN and my ownership of it. A bit of a pain but a reasonable precaution lest some nere-do-well attempt to sell or use your radio.

So, how much you selling the '02 radio for and is it sold yet? I am interested.

It was really very easy. I removed it to install a special harness fabricated by a fellow S2000 board member who goes by "Lucid". I have purchased a pair of his rear speaker panels and was using his adapter harness to hook them up. He provided full color illustrations of the removal process.

I can look to see if I can find the instructions and can scan and e-mail them to you if you like, at least the ones that pertain to the removal and re-install.

The scanned image files may be big so I may need to send them through a couple at a time.

Let me know.
