Has anyone replaced the tweeters in the 02? can it be done? is it hard?

I can't really hear the tweeters in mine, and i am replacing the door speakers so i was thinking about purchasing a component set....

 

a component set is a good idea. the tweeters can be replaced easily. i replaced mine with 1" tweeters that required minimal modification to make them fit.

 

I just mail ordered the infinity reference 605cs component speakers for my 2002 S2K. I'd like to get rid of the stock tweeter enclosures and flush mount the infinity's in the same spot. Can this be done? Did you keep just swap the tweets and leave the protuding plastic cone in place?

Also, does anyone know if the 6.5" mids in the 605cs set is drop in (euro/din sized) or will I need Lucid's new door speaker adapters? Will I have to cut the baskets?

 

i dont think you can replace the stock tweeter housing with infinity housing although i could be wrong. the door panels have large cutouts that cannot be covered up by most aftermarket tweeter housings. i know something had the infinity component system, do a search and give him a pm.

 

When I had my new speakers, tweeters, and amp installed I was told that the old speakers were the same as the ones in a civic. I would definetly replace the tweeters. I'm sure theres a way, there is always a way.The tweeters I have are smaller then the ones in the "02" and set lower right below the door handle. It looks really good.
