Default 10" or 12" sub? Hard to choose

I have a 12" polk momo sub which I never had a chance to use and I now have an opportunity to make a straight trade with Webestore for the exact same sub but in 10".

Is it worth it? Which will sound better in an S2000? IM not looking for crazy ass bass but more for clean bass. I was told by one audio installer at a Circuit City that the 12" would be preferred with the right sized box and a good amp (he also mentioned that another benefit of the 12" is that there is more room for potential in case I want more power in the future).

Opinions please.

Just get yourself the 10"... then ship it to us and we'll set you up with a nice box for it

You don't need a 12" sub in an S2000.

How much?
I experienced myself how much of a difference the corect box would make for the polk momo subs. I went into a store and they had two of them. One in a generic box and one in a polk momo enclosure with clear acrylic window. At the same wattage, the polk momo enclosure sounded unbelievably better and hit harder.

One more thing, why should I care about single or dual voice coils? Any advantage of one over the other?

A DVC sub (dual voice coil) has 2 sets of +/- One on each side. Some amps are not mono stable (means they cannot be run in mono), some amps cannot be run in stereo (1 channel amps)...thus, a DVC sub allows you (gives you the freedom) to have WAY more choices in amplifier options. One is not louder or better than the other. Its just more convenient.

I would bet that the Polk one was ported perhaps? Or the box design was totally different. In an S2000 you have limited options for sub enclosures if your trying to keep any kind of a useable trunk. This car isn't really setup to just place some kind of a premade box in the trunk... since it hardly has one in the first place.

Well the polk momo enclosure was sealed and you are correct when you say that its hard to fit a premade box. Of course it would fit but space would be compromised.
Can you PM me a quote for a box for the 10" version with the factory required specs?
