damn those at soundsolutions are expensive, i was hoping to spend ~$400...

yall think a BXI2008D would hold up better than the a18001dt? It's ~ $50-100 less...

dude, if you want a true 2k watts your not going to get it for under 400.... just buy some hifonics crap that'll put out a good 500 watts and last you a good year. Save the money, buy some PDX amps, or the new JL HD amps and your set. Or do some double stacked Kicker amps that are 1ohm stable.

PDX amps suck for bass, I know cause I sell them...
I would only use our PDX amps for highs.. There mono 600.1 isnt as loud as our rockford 300.1 on the same sub..
Disappointing to me..

imdarkrider-thanks, i don't need a hifonics amp that puts out 500W, so i'm not going to waste money on it, someone mentioned it, so i asked for more information.

Stealth_SUX, thanks for the info and helpful suggestions.

I'm going to go with the audiobahn one, and we'll see how it does, last one lasted me four years, so if I get at least two years out of the next one I'll be fine.

I would go with US Amps for those kind of specs.

Audiobahn overrates their stuff. And there are very few amp manufacturers that are actually going to be able to push that kind of power and remain stable...

Thanks for the information, I had never heard of them before, looks like I can get a MD 3D for around ~$600 or an xt4000d for about half that...

Any suggestions on which one would be for my uses between those 2?

I would take the MD3D. It's bridgeable so you can add another later if you decide you need even more power

But, really, it puts down 2kW (and that's true kW, btw). The xt4000d only puts down 1.5kW.

All great info except I have a 1 ohm stable kicker amp

kx1200.1

And yea rockford is very expensive but if your running audiobahn subs then you wont need that 2000 watts because of the same reason.. Those were designed to work with those audiobahn amps.. And since those audiobahn amps dont produce much then you probully only need 1200 or so watts for those subs..
Well...aren't you smart....The Kicker KX series amps are at least 4 years old. I was providing information on "new" product he could actually purchase....

All of the new Kicker ZX mono amps are rated into 2 ohms.

I guess he could purchase a Kicker "Warhorse" it's rated into 1 ohm.....although 10,000 watts is a little over his needs.....

And I bet you could hook him up on a great deal as a JL and Alpine dealer...

Not that JL and Alpine amps aren't good...but there are definitely better choices out there that will most definitely save him $$$ and get far closer to the spec he's shooting for.
