Hello all,

I am a new 2001 s2k owner and have 2 questions for the experts.

1)Has anyone tried to use the tweeter mounts from a 2003 s2k on an earlier model door panel?

2) Does any know what model # Alpine cd HU can use the remote controls on the left side by using the adapter made by Alpine offerd on Lucids site?

yes people use the door mounts, but a better spot is on the windshield pillar, I do not know about the other question.

The only American Alpine HU that has the wired remote input required to use that adapter is the $3K CDA-7990. There are many European Alpine HUs that work with it, though. I considered getting a European HU, but I decided to try Lucid's DCI (waiting for delivery) instead. Also, I believe that I read a post around here recently regarding someone having problems w/ their Alpine dash control adapter.
