are all the alpine HU compatible with the S and DCI?

Should have no problem with Alpine headunits except the one's with monitors built in. They will not work in the factory headunit position because the dash gets in the way. Also no problem with the DCI that I'm aware of.

Whatever Alpine headunit you get make sure its one that has the Time Correction option.

hi darkknight!, thanks for the reply. do you know if the 04-05's have the same type of wiring and apply just as the 00-03 S's? so no difference?

where would i know if it has the "time correction" option? im looking at a headunit on crutchfield on the specs page but i dont see it?

well, it's not a MUST option in my book, but i (like John) would highly recommend it.

on Crutchfield's site, look for Alpines w/ the "x-channel digital time alignment" feature. it's usually found as part of the Bass Engine Plus or Pro.

With proper time correction the speakers will all sound the same distance apart... so that way the sounds get to your ears at the same time. Balance... other wise the speaker closet to your head will sound loudest...
