2004 head unit doesn't work with 00-03 CD changer

Default 2004 head unit doesn't work with 00-03 CD changer
The cable mating the CD changer with the head unit does not match the plug on the 2004 head unit. Anyone have any ideas how to make it work?

neither does my 2yo xm unit oh well guess it's time to buy a new x/m unit

so it seems that noone has a fix. Are there aftermarket head units that will work with the OEM CD changer?

i seriously doubt it.

if you do a search, you'll see that many have failed to go that route.

GRRRR looks like I'll have to put the MY 2000 head unit back in, so I can use the CD changer.
