Default 5 Ch-Amplifier recommendations

Looking for some help. I currently have a 4 channel Alto-Mobile ADP 304 4x75W amp powering Alpine SPX177R series components in a bi-amping arrangement (HU is an Alpine 9833). The amp amp is very compact and sits on top of the fuel tank.

I'm looking to add a V1 wlaurent sub enclosure and William has recommended getting a JL Audio 250/1 amp to power an Alpine SWS1023 subwoofer.

I'd like to keep the trunk (or boot as we call it) as free from clutter as possible, so I was wondering if:
a) I could fit the JL amp alongside the Alto amp?
b) Will the JL amp fit in the footwell?
c) If a) and b) cannot be done, is there a 5 channel amp that will fit in the fuel tank space? If so, recommendations please.

Note that the JL amp costs

I don't think you're going to find a 5-channel amp that will fit above
the gas tank, nor do I think you'll be able to fit a second amp there.
If you're willing to give up bi-amping, you could go with something
like the Alpine PDX 4.150, using two channels for the fronts and two
bridged for the sub. It's a "full-range class D" which I haven't heard
personally, but people here seem happy with them.
Another possibility is to add a small class D amp inside the spare
tire. I've done this with a Sony XM-1S (8-13/16"x1-3/4"x8-1/8").
There should be room for something a little bigger.
Finally, some people have mounted JL amps behind a seat with the
heatsink pointed up and have apparently lost little seat adjustment
range.

Turns out an the guy selling in an Ebay auction I lost has 3 250/1s for sale, so I'll probably get one of those and perhaps move the Alto amp to the tool well/inside the spare.

Thanks for the help oth.

Look for the new Eclipse 5 channel. Or you can do my setup- Alpine PDX 100.4 / 600.1. These amps are stackable, tiny, digital, and blow away my old JL 500/1 and 300/4.

wow, that Eclipse just MIGHT fit above the gas tank!
http://www.eclipse-web.com/amp/xa5000.html
my guess is that the maximum length for an amp there
is 15"-16", and this one 15.75" (I have a 14" amp there).

Thanks for the suggestion but 1%THD figures for power output are a waste of time. It's probably not got enough juice for my needs.

The Alpine 1.600 is certainly interesting, and it's a bit smaller than the JL. My Ebay contact is willing to let me have a 250/1 for

it may not have enough power for your needs, but that 1% THD quote
is to bring it in line with the CEA ratings requirements. If you note the
next box, it says THD at rated power 0.05% (4ohm) and .25% for the
sub channel

Thanks for that, these car audio specs are a bit of a mystery to me.
