Default 8w7 enclosure ideas?

Hey guys, i just wanted to know what is the best place to design an enclosure for this sub. I really like to have it in the corner similar to walnurants box. Has anyone used that sub and have any pics in an s2k, or should i go for the 10w7 instead. Only reason i went with this one was because my amp would be at the optimum power range for the 8 and wanted to safe some space as well. I appreciate any info you have thanks.

I just finished an enclosure for one last night and will post up some pics once the sub is mounted this evening.

Here you go - WLAURENT enclosure with JL8W7

As it is not my sub I did not work it to much. However, at about 40% from my JL500/1 this thing sounded sweet and was delivering more bottom-end than the pair of RF HE's I run. Nice looking kit to.

damn nice. is that made of mdf or fiberglass? Also does it have the required airspace for the sub. i was worried that the 8w7 wouldnt have much effect but if you say that it did sound good, hopefully it will be better and crisper than my previous 10" hx2

It is a fiberglass shell (back) with an MDF face

The volume is only 0.42 ft^3 and JL recommends a min. sealed volume of 0.8 or so. However, it sounded really good with about 200-250 watts, providing some very good low end bass.

I do not think the smaller enclosure on this sub is really an issue if you have an amp that puts out a solid 300-400 watts to a 3 ohm load.

sounds good, i am not sure if my amp does or doesnt. I am going to use a kicker 240zr amp. Its a little older amp but i think underrated.

Is that just your standard enclosure or did you make some modifications to fit the 8W7 in there?

It is modified - I have to add about 1.5" of depth, which is OK since it moves the internal volume from 0.38 ft^3 to 0.43 ft^3

Right now it is strictly custom. I may do something similar for the Elemental Designs 10" fitment I am working on. Unfortunately I do not think it will work for passenger side enclosures due to the way the trunk hinges come across the enclosure face.

just an update, I finally got my 8w7 installed in the wheelwell and I must say the sound is simply stunning. I think the one sub is enough for anyone looking for a good sound quality system. It is not too loud or ratty, but very precise and just kick ass lol.
