Default ? about putting stock deck back in

I have a MY00 with a bottom of the line sony deck(not compatible with the modifry adapters) that the previous owner installed. He also had rear speakers installed. From what I understand, MY00 and MY01 don't come with rear speakers and the OEM decks from those two years have no place for rear speakers on the back harnass or something...I just want to take advantage of the dash controls and I don't want to buy a new aftermarket deck/modifry adapter.

My question is, which year(s) stock deck will work for my MY00 but also work for my aftermarket rear speakers. Will only 02-03 work? Or 00-03? Or 00-09? Thanks for your input!

Wait, you're going to buy a new stock deck but don't want to buy aftermarket and a DCI?

I will have an 05 stock deck by next weekend. Don't know if it is plug and play but I will have it for sale.

I believe that all model years had the connections on the HU for rear speakers. The difference was that '00 and '01 didn't have the wiring harnesses for the headrest speakers already in place, which they put in for '02-up, with '06-up having the roll hoop speakers.

So, to answer your question, any year radio should work for you.

no, pretty sure you have to modify the 00-01 harness/put your own pins in

But the HU has both front and rear channels, which is what he's asking. What he has to do on the wiring side of things is a completely different question. He has a '00, so it doesn't matter which year radio he gets, he's going to have to add pins or splice wires. Although, since it already had an aftermarket HU in there, the previous owner might have already had that done...

he asked on the "back harnass" which is talking about wiring; it's going to be easier for him to get an 02-05
