Default Accessory Power Socket Not Working

My accessory power socket is not working and I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction to fixing the problem.

I was trying to add a 2nd accessory power socket by using an add a fuse into an existing slot. Before I could even get it working, I noticed that my regular accessory power socket was no longer working. I think I may have shorted something? Anyways, I checked the accessory power fuse #5 10 amps and it looks fine. I am not sure where to look next. If anyone can point me to where I should check next I would really appreciate it.

First, the simplest - is the ignition on? The socket is only powered with the key on.
Fuse #9 in the under-dash fuse box is the accessory power socket - it is possible
for a fuse to be blown but still look ok.
Another possibility is a failing starter-cut relay which cuts power to accessories
while starting.
Does the headunit work? It's on the same fuse as the socket.

Yes, I checked while the key was in the ignition and in the second position.
I checked the accessory power socket fuse and it looks fine. I even tried replacing it with a spare and still nothing.
I haven't looked at the start-cut relay. My car starts fine though. Can it still be a problem?
My radio is stock and is working fine.

The accessory socket worked just prior to the add-a-fuse option?

If the radio works fine, but the power outlet doesn't, that eliminates the fuse and the
the relay, as they are common to both. Some people have had issues with the socket
coming loose, or perhaps the connector is loose - here's a repair thread that may be useful.

Yes it worked just prior to me attempting to use the adds fuse. I don't think the connector is loose either because it was working right before and it doesn't get used often.

I'm not really sure where to look next. I even tried a different car charger and it doesn't work either.

Take the passenger side cover off behind the seat. Inspect the wiring and check for 12v with IGN ON. DMM is your friend.

I ran into the same issue when adding my seat heaters. Fuse was fine, relay was fine, but the wiring from the plug at the outlet to where it connects to the main harness (behind the passenger seat) was burnt to a crisp. Not sure how it happened but all is fine now after running new wires. Doubt that's your problem but I'd inspect the wiring first before anything.

Okay I will try inspecting it tonight after work. I'm open to any ideas. I'm just stumped what it could be. I really thought it would have been the fuse.

Suspect loose or bad connection(s). Bad ground point(s). Or something which may have happened, in coincidence, with your modifications.

I checked the connection and it was tight and in place.

But I tried a third car charger I had and it worked. I believe the 2nd socket I was trying to add fried my two other car chargers. So I'm trashing the socket I was trying to add since it's probably faulty.

I'm just glad it's not a problem with the car. Thanks for all you guys that offered suggestions and your opinions.
