Actual Sound
I read alot of people installing upgraded systems in their car. My question is, having a good woofer sitting in the trunk (10" woofer) with the top down, will the bass travel well into the driver/passenger seat?
Will the top down, having the glass and folded vinyl block most of the sound?
Ideally bass should be heard from the front of the car, but unless you create a decent sized cavity near the passenger's feet, this isn't going to happen... Is there a differnt suggested spot without compensating the body of our cars?
Thank you.

Being a convertible, the S is not an ideal car for great sound. That being said, is it possible to get good sound out of it? Absolutely! One 10" sub with a proper sized amp will definately bring good bass response up front. With the top up, the overall sound quailty will improve quite a bit. If you want to take it a step further, install a hard top.
Either way, the stock system blows. A nice set of component speakers in the doors and a 10" out back was worth every penny for me!

The only successful in-cabin install of a sub that did not involve some cutting of the car was a 10" I think that a guy installed under the steering column. Others have installed subs in the passenger floor well by the firewall, but that involves some cutting of the car's frame to fit the sub. or putting in a false floor.
That said, a sub with enough power in the trunk will sound fine. It won't sound like an in cabin sub, but you can still get plenty of bass. I have a 10" in a darkside sub enclusore that takes up the right pocket of the trunk - very little space is lost and the bass is perfect.
